Celebrated mutineers walk out on their publicized trial, apparently the MPs guarding them had gone turncoat, sided with the rebels. People in the streets, tear gas was used. Curfew in effect, but screw that. Some are fearful, but many just see it as an inconvenience, spectacle. This is how democracy works here, elections don't have enough drama, so once in a while we have to have street theater.

Someone at work gave me robert jordan's The Eye of the World. Didn't ask for it, tried jordan some years ago and didn't like it. Instead i'm re-reading iain m. banks's Against a Dark Background, this is the story joss whedon was shooting for but didn't reach: intensely character-driven sf, grim, moving, heartbreaking, unforgettable.

LRT Araneta Cubao Station
I've always liked cubao, it's the truth. Trying to turn into makati, but much of it still has a retro 80s vibe.
